WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Cleveland Who?

July 22 at Cleveland

Levels Finished:
Cleveland folded quickly after Floyd fireballed their asses.

Short Take:  Cleveland sucks, Floyd was awesome, Sox win 3-ZIP.

The Sox are having their second successful season in a row of being the bitches of the AL Central. However, in their 12-20 record against the rest of this crappy division, the Sox are now 5-1 against Cleveland this season after Friday night's 3-0 victory.

Gavin Floyd (8-9) was the man of the night throwing 7.2 innings of shutout ball in yielding just four hits to earn the victory. Floyd has won two straight starts after going 0-4 in his previous six starts.

Since Cleveland didn't score, we don't have to read about them. All of the Sox runs came in the top of the fifth. With one out, Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn both singled. Carlos Quentin then came up and hit a 407 foot three-run homer to left to put the Sox up 3-0 off Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco.

Matt Thornton came in with two on and two out in the eighth. He was able to retire Orlando Cabrera on a fly out with a nice running catch by Juan Pierre.

Sergio Santos then relieved Thornton with one on and two out in the ninth. Santos struck out Matt LaPorta to record his 19th save on the season.

Alex Rios is still garbage, but it was nice to see Adam Dunn go 2-5 and Carlos Quentin go 3-5 with a homer.

Sox continue to play at Cleveland Saturday, July 23. Edwin Jackson (6-7, 3.97 ERA) will face another no-named guy named David Huff (1-0, 0.00 ERA). The game starts at 6:05 p.m. and will be on WGN.

Ozzio's Game Rant:
"I told Gavin that if he pitches better, I'll go clothes shopping with him so he stops wearing the same clothes to Soxfest every year."
