Same Old Song And Dance

July 7th vs. Minnesota Twins

Levels Finished:
The only fireballs were aimed at our own team.

Short Take:The Sox continue to let the Minnesota Twins rule supreme over them. What else is new?

Who wants some deep fried twinkies? I do! You do! We all do! Unless you are wearing a Sox uniform, that is. The Sox were pushed down early and didn't make much of an effort to get up by the pesky Minnesota Twins and are now 0-5 against their most dominant foes. Your score: Twins triple up our Palehose 6-2.

As frustrating as this season has been, nothing is more frustrating than seeing our Sox wilt whenever anyone with a Twins uniform sits across the field from them. The Twins had us down on the mat before we even got a chance to bat, as Joe Mauer, who was starting at 1st base for the first time in his career, got an RBI single to knock in Ben Revere. A couple more runs came in the next frame, even though it appeared as our guys were going to catch a break against these guys when Danny Valencia barely missed hitting a lead-off bomb to left field. What appeared to be a break was just a mirage, as Valencia was knocked in a couple batters later by Tsuyoshi Nishioka (who stole second uncontested and was batted in himself two batters later by Revere). Minnesota doubled their score a couple frames later with an RBI single by Revere and a 2-RBI single by Mauer.

Boy, do those guys to our northwest know how to keep us in check. They've been doing it so well the past decade! It's hard to fathom any other team in MLB having the same domination over an opponent as the Twins do us. As Ozzie always does, I guess we should all follow suit and tip our caps to the Twins. Excuse me while I vomit.

But, for the good news? Yes, Sox fans, a couple good things actually happened today. Mark Teahen hit a 2-run bomb in the bottom of the 5th. But, more importantly, the White Sox Army continued its hot streak by voting in Paul Konerko as the American League's Final Man to the All Star team! Konerko will join THE Carlos Quentin in representing the South Siders in Phoenix next week! This proves once again that the White Sox Army cannot be conquered!

Let's hope the bleeding can at least be temporarily stopped tomorrow night, as Nick Blackburn will hopefully be upstaged by Gavin Floyd. Same time, same place, different channel: WCIU.

Ozzio's Game Rant:
I make the #^()!@& lineup! If it don't work, then you just gotta tip your cap to the Twins!
