Weather Can't Stop Them

May 24 at Rangers

Levels Finished:
Sox dodge barrels and Quentin hits three fireballs

Short Take: † Sox battle weather, Rangers and get the win

Despite a weather delay that lasted almost three hours and required a ballpark evacuation, the White Sox hung on to beat the Rangers 8-6.

Carlos Quentin had a huge game. In the first inning, Quentin hit a solo shot to left. But he didnít stop there. In the fourth, he hit a three-run homer.

Is that all?

Nope. Quentin hit yet another home run in the ninth inning, another solo shot. That gave the Sox an 8-6 lead which would hold.

Although he had five RBIs, Quentin wasnít the only one who batted in runs. Adam Dunn hit his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot in the fifth. Brent Morel batted in Alex Rios in the same inning, which gave the Sox a 6-4 lead at the time. Rios batted in Paul Konerko in the seventh, putting the Sox up 7-5.

Jake Peavy started the game and pitched well. After the three-hour delay, the Sox went to their bullpen which pitched decently. Will Ohman, Jesse Crain, and Sergio Santos pitched well while Tony Pena, who eventually picked up the win, Chris Sale, and Matt Thornton were a little shaky.

The Sox close out this series tomorrow afternoon. Gavin Floyd faces CJ Wilson at 1:05pm. Letís get that win, boys.

Ozzio's Game Rant:
