The Road Trip Is Finally Over!

April 28 @ New York Yankees

Levels Finished:
The Lady will never be saved at this pace!

Short Take:The Sox completed their longest road trip of the season going a horrible 3-8 in the process.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda. That has been the common theme for the first month of this season. The Sox SHOULD have built up a nice lead in the opening frame of tonight's road trip closer in New York. They had ducks on the pond with nobody out. But CC Sabathia got out of the jam with the help of a bad baserunning mistake by Brent Lillibridge, who tried to score from third on a groundout by TCQ. What happens in the first few frames pretty much has been an indicator for what the final outcome will be, and tonight was no different, as the Sox dropped this one 12-3.

Edwin Jackson was wild in the third inning, as he walked the bases loaded. With one out, Brett Gardner walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. After Edwaurdo Nunez was also given a free pass, both advanced on a double steal. The trio was complete with a BB by Curtis Granderson. Gardner and Nunez scored on RBIs by Nick Swisher and Robinson Cano, giving the Sox a 2-0 deficit. Two frames later, the deficit quadrupled, while the Sox had three pitchers on the mound during that time (Jackson, Tony Pena, and Will Ohman). One more run came across in the sixth, giving the Yankees a huge 9-0 lead going into the last third of the game.

Our Sox finally got on the board right before the 7th inning stretch, as they put up a 3-spot. With two out, Morel reached safely on a throwing error by Nunez, was balked to second, and advanced to third on an infield single by Lillibridge. TCM and TCQ combined for 3 RBIs, which would be the only scoring our guys would do the entire night.

The Yankees quickly got those runs back in the bottom of the same frame. With the longest road trip of the season finally done (the Sox going a horrible 3-8), it's time for our guys to head back home. Baltimore awaits; different time (7:10), different place (home), same channel.
