WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Cy Fatolo? Seriously?

April 27 at N.Y. Yankees

Levels Finished:
This game was over after the first inning.

Short Take: The Sox hitters get mowed down by washed-up Bartolo Colon. What a joke.

Good morning, Greg Walker.

Last week, you were quoted as saying: "Actually, our scuffles are way overblown. We're averaging five runs a game (not anymore). We're fourth in the league in runs scored (not anymore). We've got a couple of high-profile guys who haven't got going yet. One of them got operated on a week ago. I'm not worried. We're good (no, you're not). We're averaging five runs a game (not anymore) and we got two of our big boys not even started. I'm just sort of sick of the negative ****, I really am. We're not that bad."

Yeah, you are that bad. Guess what? Your hitters have scored only six runs in their last five games. They've scored three runs or less in 12 of the last 13 games. Four of your regulars are hitting .200 or worse. And you want us to stop the negative ****?

Why shouldn't I be negative when your hitters just got shut down by 500-pound Fatolo Colon? Colon didn't even pitch in the major leagues last season, but there he was Wednesday night throwing eight innings of one-run ball in the New York Yankees' 3-1 victory over the White Sox.

This isn't 2004 and Colon isn't an ace anymore, Greg. You'll never be fired, so please, resign your position and save us Sox fans further embarrassment.

You have to feel for the Sox starting pitchers right now. All of them are throwing the ball decent. Sure, left-hander Mark Buehrle (1-3) gave up a three-run homer to Robinson Cano in the first inning Wednesday, but he threw up nothing but zeroes thereafter. You would think the Sox would be able to generate three runs sometime over nine innings against a retread like Colon, but you would be wrong.

The Sox managed to scrape across one run in the sixth inning on three straight singles by Carlos Quentin, Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn. Really, Quentin and Konerko are the only two hitters pulling their weight right now. Three more hits for Quentin in this game. He's now hitting. 304. Konerko is hitting .316. The rest of these clowns couldn't hit water if they fell off a freakin' boat.

The question is, what is Greg Walker gonna do about it? Is he capable of doing anything about it? The Sox are 10-15 and those turnstiles probably aren't going to be clicking on the next homestand, I can tell you that.

The Sox will conclude this series with the Yankees at 6:05 Thursday night. Edwin Jackson (2-2, 4.88 ERA) gets the ball for the South Siders. He'll be opposed by Yankee ace lefty C.C. Sabathia (1-1, 2.73 ERA). Oh, by the way, Sabathia is 16-4 lifetime against our Sox.

We better hope Jackson throws a shutout.

Ozzio's Game Rant:
**** you, JB98. Dis is not Greg Walker's fault. Dis is Ozzie Guillen's fault. I make out the ******* lineup.
