WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

This Offense Isn't Worth a Penny

April 23 @ Detroit Tigers

Levels Finished:
The neighborhood bully unplugged the game before it could be started to preserve his top score.

Short Take:Sox offense helps lower Brad Penny's 6.35 ERA.

The Sox obviously didn't get the message. Spring Training ended 3 1/2 weeks ago. These games actually count, and playing like they have been playing (1-9 in their last 10) will increase the pressure tenfold if they really want to play in October. Both the hitting and pitching both were weak as the South Siders dropped another game at Comerica Park, this time 9-0.

I'll save you some pain by keeping this short and sweet. Detroit did all of their scoring in just three innings. Unfortunately, two of those three saw them put up big crooked numbers. Five of their nine runs were scored in the fourth frame, helped by a wild pitch by Edwin Jackson and a poor error by Juan Pierre. It could've been more if it weren't for a double play that Miguel Cabrerra hit into. Brennnan Boesch, Ryan Raburn, Jhonny Peralta, Brandon Inge, and Austin Jackson all scored in that frame. A couple innings later, the home team put up a three-spot, as Boesch and Jackson both scored their second runs of the game, sandwiching a run by Magglio Ordonez. They tacked on a final run in the last of the eighth, and that was all she wrote.

In conclusion: Nothing went right for the Sox today. Can they at least salvage the last game of the series like they did this week in Tampa? Tune in to WGN tomorrow at noon if you dare.

Ozzio's Game Rant:
I make the ****ing lineup, but I no ****ing hit or pitch!
