May 20 vs. Minnesota Twins

KW's Daily Special:
Twinkees, of course
The Sox are "getting fat" on this weak competition

Short Take:The Twins are crappy. They are perpetual losers.

You know all that crap you usually hear about the Sox not being able to win at the Metrodome? Well, guess what! The freakin' Twins can't win at U.S. Cellular Field either! Our Sox have now won 11 of their last 13 home games against Minnesota after Wednesday night's 7-4 victory over the crappy, perpetual losers from up north.

The Sox got all the runs they would need in the bottom of the fourth inning, lighting up Minnesota lefty Francisco Liriano for seven runs. Paul Konerko erased an early 2-0 Minnesota lead with a two-run homer after Jim Thome had singled to start the inning.

Alexei Ramirez, who had made an error in the top of the fourth that cost the Sox two runs, redeemed himself with a double and scored on a single by Josh Fields that gave the Sox a 3-2 edge. Corky Miller doubled and Jayson Nix walked to load the bases for Jermaine Dye, who finished the rally off by crushing a grand slam to left field.

Handed a 7-2 lead to protect, Sox lefty John Danks (3-3) and four relievers did the rest. Danks went 5 2/3 innings, allowing four runs (two earned), while striking out seven and walking three. The Sox bullpen was spotless, and Bobby Jenks earned his ninth save of the season.

The Sox will try for the sweep tomorrow afternoon, with Bartolo Colon on the bump. Nick Blackburn is scheduled to pitch for the Twins.

Critic's Corner:
Five stars. The Twins are crappy. They are perpetual losers.
