Sox Heat Up Against Cold Twinkies

April 11 vs. Minnesota Twins

KW's Daily Special:
Sloppy Joe or Prime Rib?
Opportunity knocked on the kitchen door and the Sox ate it up.

Short Take:   The Sox were hungry after three losses. An 8-0 victory hit the spot.

Welcome to Kenny's Burger Joint where the beer is cold and so are the seats. On this frigid Saturday the White Sox served up a heaping helping of runs while the Minnesota Twins had no appetite for the offerings of Bartolo Colon.

Head Chef Ozzie Guillen stacked a lineup of right-handed hitters against Francisco Liriano, who today couldn't find the strike zone. The Sox, having worked up an appetite of their own after losing three straight, feasted on Liriano's generosity. The Sox scored one run as an appetizer in the 4th on a Wilson Betemit double followed by an Alexei Ramirez single. But the main course was served to the Sox in the 4-run 5th inning, when Liriano loaded the bases and issued RBI walks to Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko, followed by two more runs on a groundout and a single.

A parade of Minnesota pitchers followed Liriano, but the Sox were still hungry. Carlos Quentin hit his second homer in as many days, after which the Sox scored two more runs on a walk and a couple of well-placed singles. When the meal was finished, the Sox had cleaned the Twinkies' plates with an 8-0 shutout.

Bartolo Colon was once a master chef. Now that he's back at Kenny's Joint he looks like he might be ready to serve the good stuff once again. Sox fans, your table is ready!

Critic's Corner:
Ah, we love hot bats on a cold day!
