Beer Shower For Clayton Richard

August 19 vs. Seattle Mariners

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Big Jim did some major damage tonight.

Short Take:Clayton Richard gets his first major league win, while Jim Thome and co. provide him with an ample amount of early support, as our Sox kept the M's at bay with a 5-0 victory.

This was supposed to be one that would get away from our Sox early. This was supposed to be a game that would leave Sox fans questioning the organization's decision of giving the struggling Clayton Richard another shot at a start over Lance Broadway, who dazzled in his last start. Whatever was supposed to happen did not, as Clayton Richard got his first major league victory over the much favored Felix Hernandez 5-0.

Our Palehose got all of their runs in four consecutive innings, starting with the second, where Big Jim led off with a double, was singled over by The Cuban Missile, and was sacrificed in by Jr. Two more runs would go on the board in the third, as AJ Pierzynski copied Thome with a leadoff double, was promptly doubled in by TCQ, who stole third and came home thanks to TCM. Nick Swisher led off the fourth with a leadoff jack, while Thome hit an outfield immobalizing shot in the fifth to complete the scoring.

While Richard was getting a beer shower in the clubhouse, our Sox found themselves 2/3 of the way towards a series sweep of a team they have dominated this season. It's time to finish 5-1 against Seattle. Gavin Floyd takes the mound. Same place, different time (1:05), different channel (CSN).

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Clayton Richard made quick work of the M's, while the Sox's bats gave him more than enough support.

Jim Thome

His outfield-immobalizing jack in the 5th was as much of a no-doubter as this game was for our Sox.
