WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Nothing To See Here

August 27 at Baltimore Orioles

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Sox didn't seem like they knew this one counted.

Short Take: Danks, Sox just didn't have it tonight.

For some reason, the Sox usually have a hard time hitting guys with +7 ERAs. Don't know why. But it seems to be the case. Radhames Liz (Yes, that's his name.) shut the Sox down tonight. In fact, he made them look like a bunch of asses. John Danks and Lance Broadway didn't help the cause though. Danks didn't even pitch into the fifth inning and Broadway couldn't handle four innings of work giving up seven runs in tonight's 11-3 loser.

Danks gave Baltimore a quick first inning 1-0 lead off a Aubrey Huff sac fly. Paul Konerko answered that with a solo shot in the second to tie the game. But, the Orioles took a 3-1 lead in their half of the second. The Good Guys cut the lead to 3-2 in the third but from there on out, the Orioles took control.

Luckily, only two Sox pitchers took the beating. Danks threw 91 pitches in just four innings of work giving up the four runs and seven hits. Lance Broadway took over in the fifth and didn't provide the Sox bats with anything to come back from. Broadway gave up nine hits and seven runs in his four innings of work.

Jermaine Dye hit a meaningless solo home run in the eighth to make the score 10-3. but it was already too late for the Sox who looked completely disinterested in tonight's action.

Blow up games like this happen...I guess.

To make matters worse, the damn Twins won. Cutting the Sox Central lead to just one game. Thursday is a off day while the Sox travel to Boston to face the Red Sox for a weekend series. Friday's start time is 6:05pm when Javier Vazquez takes the mound for our first place SOX!

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Sox take the night off before a day off.
