Another Blowout

August 20 vs. Seattle Mariners

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

Sox continue to bomb their opponents out the park!

Short Take:   Sox murder the worst team in the American League 15-3.

Gavin Floyd pitched out of a bit of a jam in the first inning. Floyd allowed the first two batters to reach base but got a double play and a strike out to end the threat and get the Sox bats rolling. And rolling they did. They bombed out six runs in the first inning off a wild pitch, a Ken Griffey Jr. double, ground out, and a Alexei Ramirez three run home run.

The Sox didn't let the early big lead get to them. They piled on the runs this afternoon cranking out a total of four home runs. Ken Griffey Jr. finally got the sweet meat on the ball slamming a two run home run to put the Sox up 8-0 in the second. In fact, the Sox actually scored at least one run in the first six innings of the game. A.J. Pierzynski hit a three run home run in the fifth and Nick Swisher hit a solo shot in the sixth to cap off the 15 run outburst on Mariner pitching.

Floyd didn't let up either. Gavin threw six innings giving up three runs on six hits locking up his 13th win of the season and the Sox 73rd of the year.

The win keeps the Sox alone in first place in the A.L. Central as those damn Twins also won their afternoon match. Tomorrow is a off day before the A.L. best Tampa Bay Rays come into town for a three game weekend series. Friday, John Danks takes the mound on Elvis Night at Sox Park. Game time is 7:11pm. Go SOX!

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Outscored the worst team in the A.L. 33-8 this three game series.
