Javy Good Outing

August 12 vs. Kansas City Royals

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
#33 gave the Royals a reason to be crabby.

Short Take:Javier Vazquez threw the heat, while our Palehose's bats backed him up, as our Sox started their final series on this homestand with a 9-0 win over the Royals.

For the majority of the season, Palehose hurler Javier Vazquez has been unable to establish any sort of a positive rhythm. For each step forward, he seemingly takes two steps backward. The great thing about the game of baseball is that every game has its own personality, giving pitchers a fresh start each time they take the mound. Javy certainly looked fresh in tonight's 9-0 drubbing of the 4th place Royals from Kansas City.

Our Sox seem to be on a mission to make the Alex Snellius Foundation go bankrupt this season, as they hit three more dingers tonight. In the first frame, Jermaine Dye hit one out with Orlando Cabrera aboard. The Dirty 30 and AJ Pierzynski hit solo blasts of their own in the 5th and 6th frames.

Javy threw a brilliant game with 8 strong innings, allowing only 6 base runners (5 hits and 1 walk), while striking out 10 batters. The Royals were unable to produce any sort of a threat, as he pretty much neutralized their bats.

Our Sox seemed to have a great recollection of that early August weekend in the Heart of America, when the Royals ran the score up on them, so they returned the favor tonight in adding 5 more runs to their 4-0 lead in the 8th inning, which included Chris Getz's first major league at bat producing an RBI single. Welcome to the big leagues, Chris! Earth to the Royals: Don't try to piss off our Sox, or you'll have to deal with worse consequences.

And so, the divisional lead see-saw battle between our Sox and the Baggie Dome Twinkies continues, as the Yankees have given us some help, defeating our arch rivals in extras tonight! Back in first place, our Sox look for another win tomorrow night (and hopefully another loss by the home team in the Baggie Dome). Mark Buehrle tows the rubber for our Sox against Luke Hochevar. Same time, same place, same channel.

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Javier Vazquez made sure to win the hand tonight, putting us on top of the deck again.
