WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

In Their Own Special Way

June 26 at Los Angeles Dodgers

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Danks throws six quality shutout innings, bullpen does the rest.

Short Take:   Danks shines, offense gets just enough, defense helps the cause.

John Danks and the Sox bullpen took over today to compensate a weak Sox lineup that was able to score two runs today off seven hits. Danks worked hard in his six innings this afternoon helping the Sox win their first road series since their May 26-28 series against the Cleveland Indians.

The Sox were able to put up solo tallies in the second and third inning off Clayton Kershaw who only lasted four innings. Alexei Ramirez singled in Jermaine Dye in the second and Carlos Quentin singled in Orlando Cabrera to give the Sox their 2-0 lead.

Danks threw 107 pitches in six innings and handed the ball over to the bullpen. Matt Thorton, Octavio Dotel, Scott Linebrink, and Bobby Jenks kept the Dodgers in check. Thorton surrendered the only hit the Dodgers could muster up against the Sox bullpen and Jenks pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning for the Sox 2-0 win!

Good thing too because the Twins won (again) so the Sox lead in the A.L. Central stands at a 1/2 game with a record of 43-35. Tomorrow is Round 2 of the Crosstown Classic. Jose Contreras will try and make up for his awful performance from last Saturday against the Cubs. Game time is 3:05pm and the Sox telecast will be on WGN.

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Sox came through, now let's pick up lots of wins for our ten game homestand!
