Put Me In, Coach; I Couldn't Be Worse

June 15th vs. Colorado Rockies

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
52 and 23...and not much else!

Short Take: Eccchhhh!

It was a beautiful day for a ball game. Too bad Sox fans didnít get to see one. Rockies 5, Sox 3.

Another Sunday off shot to hell! Okay, sure; good little camper that I am, I sat through this entire miserable experience and I could, if required, give you a play-by-play. But why torture you further? Hereís the recap: short and sweet.

The first two batters for the Rockies reached and came around to score. After .5 inning, 2-0 Bad Guys. Bottom 1, two out, JD doubled. Died there. Second inning was boring as hell, as was the third. Ah, but bottom four, after two out, we actually scored a run. Be interesting to see what would happen if we ever started these rallies with fewer than two out. So 2-1 after four, but in the fifth, the Sox got two when JD homered with AJ on base. TIE GAME!!!

Iíll say it again: TIE GAME!!! Because thatís the last positive thing that happened. At least offensively. The Rockies got the run right back top of six. Matt Thornton came on in relief and was solid, and in the ninth Boone Logan struck out the side. Unfortunately, he gave up a solo home run along the way and it was 5-3 Rockies. And thatís how it ended. Fortunately for us, Milwaukee bounced the Twinkies, so we maintain our lead. Off day tomorrow, with the Pirates coming in on Tuesday. And hereís a word to our favorite team. Letís not look past the Pirates in anticipation of the Cubs next weekend, okay?

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Still on top of the deck--but those damn Tigers might make it interesting.
