Get Dominated

May 26 at Cleveland Indians

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Pocket Jenks
KW had him all along and he deliverd in the 12th.

Short Take:   sox head to cleveland and beat the indians on a memorial day matchup which featured a lot of hits, a few runs and a pile of awesome

the sox kick off their latest road trip in beautiful cleveland, oh against the hated indians, a team that has struggled as of late and who the sox had swept just a week earlier in chicago, a week that featured an eight game win streak, the sox longest in a couple years which helped the sox build a nice lead in the al central, a division that has been in flux this season just like this game was as it was a back and forth affair from the beginning as the sox scored one in the first and cleveland answered with a solo hr in the bottom of the frame to tie the game, a tie that would not last for long as cleveland plated two more in the 3rd and 5th but the sox replied with two runs of their own in the 6th and 7th, the last runs that would be scored until extras when the sox posted a three spot in the top of the 12th to take a commanding lead from which cleveland would never recover from as they led off the 12th with two singles on two pitches before a jenks double play ball and strikeout sealed their fate, a fate of doom and loss as they drop the ninth of their last ten games in what has been a dissapointing may for them, a may where fortune shined on the sox, especially the pitching staff which had another good one this game with javy going 6 innings and giving up only three runs, a low total considering the nine hits he gave up, a situation similar to byrd who gave the same number of runs through 6.2 innings but gave up ten hits, numbers that demonstrate both teams were getting guys on base but not bringing them home and as is plainly obvious, you can't win the game if you don't score runs but the sox scored just enough, helped in part by thome's two hits and rbis, including a home run which hopefully puts his relatively crappy start behind him and sets the stage for brighter days ahead as the sox look to continue having great pitching but also getting the offense they need to win ballgames becuase that is the name of the game so let's all root, root, root for the white sox in the coming months, especially if some of the younger players like brian anderson get more playing time and get the chances to show of their skills, like anderson did tonight when he drove in the final run in the 12th to give the sox a 6-3 lead and what would end up being a win.
