7's All Around!

May 21 vs. Cleveland Indians

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Hand of Kings!
Vazquez, so far, has shown to be a bargan. KW must have known J.D. has a bit more left in the tank! GO SOX!

Short Take: Vazquez and the Sox seven runs fuels 7th win in a row!

Javier Vazquez threw seven strong innings tonight keeping the Sox in the game despite giving up two runs to the defending AL Central Champion Cleveland Indians. A solo shot in the second inning off that bat of Michael Aubrey and a RBI double by Travis Hafner in the sixth inning gave the Indians a 2-0 lead.

That looked like it was going to be enough for junkball pitcher Paul Byrd. The crafty pitcher was on cruise control all night... that was until he ran into the Sox in the sixth inning. Orlando Cabrera led off the inning with a single, then A.J. Pierzynski walked setting up a two on one out situation for Jermaine Dye after The Carlos Quentin grounded into a fielders choice. Dye would send a Byrd offering behind the Sox bullpen with a three run bomb sending the 38,000 plus at The Cell into a frenzy and the Sox with a 3-2 lead.

The Sox added two more in the inning to give them a 5-2 lead. The following inning, Jermaine Dye and Jim Thome went back to back putting the game away, giving the Sox a 7-2 win!

What a game. Besides the fans resorting to the wave to pass the time till the final out, the crowd was into it and the Sox bats finally were able to put together a consistent attack in an inning. Tomorrow, the Sox go for the sweep! Mark Buehrle will try and build on his strong outing from last Sunday when he goes against Aaron Laffey for the Indians. Game time is 7:11pm and the game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet.

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Sox weren't looking pretty until the sixth, but came through with seven runs in two innings!
