Toothless Toons

May 20 vs. Mistake By the Lake Toons

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Quentin and Jose combine to win this for Chicago's free-thinking baseball fans.

Short Take:After a long 10-game road trip, our Sox returned home and punched the teeth out of that smile on Chief Wahoo's face, scoring early and adding insurance late, in a 4-1 mastery of the Toons.

Chief Wahoo's had way too much to smile about since our Sox won the World Series 2.5 years ago. They've gone to the playoffs a couple times and have had a ton of calls go their way to assist them in the process. If only things could be that easy for our Sox! We'd be in the playoffs every year. Chief Wahoo arrived at Comiskey Park tonight at 7:11 all smiley; but, that smile was soon altered, as our Sox threw a couple punches early and went for the KO punch near the end. Suddenly Chief Wahoo couldn't smile anymore, as his our Sox busted out all of his teeth and bested his Toons 4-1.

Chicago's best outfielder started things off on the right foot, as TCQ launched a 2-out solo shot. Suddenly, Chief Wahoo was missing his front teeth. The next inning, Jim Thome landed another punch to the Chief, further increasing his dental bills. After the first couple of frames, our Palehose already had a nice 2-0 lead.

The Toons gave the Chief a shot of novocaine the very next inning, as Casey Blake led things off with a single and ultimately scored, trimming our lead in half. But, that's as much help as last year's Cy Young winner CC Sabathia would get.

The game would go on for a few innings without a change in the scorecard until our Palehose delivered the final blow to the Chief's face in the underside of the eighth frame. TCQ, Jermaine Dye, and Thome juiced the bases to start things off right. Pablo Ozuna (who replaced Joe Crede after he was ejected for arguing balls and strikes in the fourth) got in TCQ, while Nick Swisher batted in Dye. Bad Bobby Jenks closed this one out, earning his 11th save of the season.

This fortunately wasn't Chief Wahoo's night! To add to his misery, he later found out that his dental insurance claim for the night had been rejected! Delta Dental didn't want to be stuck with the bill of a patient whose dental work would even put a hockey player's to shame. Tune in to WCIU tomorrow night at 7:11 to watch Javier Vazquez make even more of a mockery of Chief Wahoo and his Toons!

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Jose Contreras and THE Carlos Quentin led the way in bluffing the Toons to death.
