Sox go to school...again

May 7 vs. Twins

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Pure Bluff
Kenny seems to have assembled a nice pitching staff, but the new Sox lineup looks just as pathetic as it was last year.

Short Take: More slow stuff baffles Sox hitters.

This is getting annoying. Just as annoying as Jay Mariotti and Carol Slezack's columns of pure trash, false statements, and their usual Sox-hating diatribe's that filled the embarrassing pages of the Sun-Times this week.

The Sox can't hit. The Sox hating Chicago media is all over the team like a strip club ad in the Sun-Times. And fans are getting restless. Yes, spirits are down on the South Side as the Sox were blown away by the first place Minnesota Twins tonight at The Cell, 13-1.

Just 24 hours after Gavin Floyd stunned Twins hitters throwing a one hit gem, Livan Hernandez returned the favor to our Sox. Per usual, the usual 80mph fastballs and changeups did our Sox in and Mark Buehrle, who has been getting some hard luck losses the past weeks pitched a game he'd rather forget. After only surrendering solo tally's to the Twins in the first and fifth innings, the big blow came in the sixth inning when that glorified double-A player, Nick Punto hit a bases clearing double to cap off a five run inning where the Twins batted around and Buehrle hit the showers, not before he took out the frustration on Juan Uribe's bat in the dugout.

To put an exclamation point on the Twins' win tonight, Carlos Gomez went 4-4 in the game hitting for the cycle. The Twins added more runs in the ninth off Ehren Wasserman and Nick Masset to make the game even more unbearable. With the 13-1 loss, our Sox drop to 15-17, nothing to share the passion about. Turn around time for tomorrow's game is quick as the rubber match is set for a 1:05pm start. John Danks hopes to put the Sox in the win column before they go on a three city, 10 game road trip. Let's get back to winning series, boys...

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Sox couldn't even buy in tonight.
