WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Yankees continue to abuse Sox

April 23 vs. New York Yankees

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Pure Bluff
Vazquez can't seem to get a poker face as his tendency to not handle pressure continues...

Short Take:   Sox get going too late, suffer second straight loss.

A A-Rod-less Yankee team has had no problems pounding Sox pitching these past two nights. Javier Vazquez was tonight's victim as he was chased out of the sixth inning surrendering six runs and ten hits.

As usual, the Sox couldn't get anything going against the soft throwing Mike Mussina. Both Joe Crede and The Carlos Quentin connected for solo home runs (shock) in the fifth and seventh innings to keep the game withing reach. Problem was, nobody else was doing their parts to get on base and stack some hits together until the eighth. With Nick Swisher and Orlando Cabrera on the corners with one out, Jim Thome hit a soft single past first base to score Swisher to make it a 6-3 game with Cabrera moving to third. Mariano Rivera come on to face Paul Konerko who hit a sac fly scoring Cabrera cutting the Yankee lead to two. Jermaine Dye couldn't pick up one of the game's best relievers as he struck out to end the threat leaving the game at a 6-4 Yankee lead.

Sox went 1-2-3 in the ninth and dropped their second in a row 6-4. Simply put, the Yankees are just getting it done. Hopefully, this will serve as a wake up call to our Sox who have dropped to a 11-9 record. Tomorrow Gavin Floyd will look to keep proving his haters wrong when he'll try and get the Sox in the win column. Game time is the usual 7:11 home start. Game is televised on WGN.

Quest For the Final Table Update:
 Must be a cold table...
