Whatís New, Puddytats? Nothing: You Guys Lost Again!

April 13th vs Detroit Tigers

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Two Kings: Paulie and Joe

Pocket Rockets
The Gambler and his backup dealer didnít know when to fold Ďem.

Short Take: Not a sweep, but pretty dadgum sweet! Final Score: 11-0

Where do we start? Well, how about with the starting pitchers? Javy Vazquez (not to be confused with Javy Lopez) vs.Kenny Rogers (the Gambler). First inning; we got a run, they didnít. Second inning, nobody got a run. But then came the third!

Javy struck out the first two guys and would have struck out the side, had not that pest Renteria (Remember him? The guy that broke up Gavinís no-hitter yesterday?) elected to fly out. The point is, three up, three down. Sox came up in the bottom of the frame. Uribe flied out. Swish walked. Cabrera reached on an infield single. So with runners on first and second, one out, and Big Jim up, the Tigers decided to bluff (probably). Might have worked, too, had not the Gambler suddenly turned into a Joker. One wild pitch later and the double play threat was gone. Big Jim promptly walked, Paul Konerko hit the granny, and at the turn, it was 5-0 Good Guys.

Stayed that way for a whole inning. Then in the fifth, Orlando and Big Jim got on and the Gambler went to the showers. In comes Zach Miner, who strikes out PK. Well, thatís one out, but it would be awhile before he saw the next one. JD doubled, scoring Cabrera and moving Thome to third. Once again, the Tigers bluffed, intentionally walking AJ to get to Carlos Quentin. Once again, it might have worked, except for that darned wild pitch that scored Thome and moved JD to third and AJ to second. Quentin walked, setting the stage for JOE CREDE. BOOM!! 11-0 Good Guys!

And thatís how it ended, folks. Javy was great (struck out 9, walked nobody) and Matt Thornton and Nick Masset did well in relief. Another big plus was that we didnít have to go to Jenks, giving him some much-needed rest. Next up: two games against the red-hot Oakland Aís to finish the homestand, then off to Baltimore to face the red-hot Orioles. Well, some might consider the Sox to be red-hot also. Letís cool off these other jokers!

NEWSFLASH! Acording to ESPN, Sunday's Best is yet to come, with the Wrong Sox vs. the Yankees. Let's see them top this!

Quest For the Final Table Update:
Royal Flush, as the Sox royally flushed the Kittens for the second straight weekend.

Paul Konerko

Tough call; there's a lot of praise to spread around today, but he's the one that came up aces in the early play!
