WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Javvy Nice Evening

August 10 vs. Seattle Mariners

Back to the Grind,
or Just Grinded?

Today's Sox cut of meat:
Pulled Pork
Our Sox pulled themselves together in the seventh to send this one to the "w" column.

Short Take:Javier Vazquez holds down the pretty stellar Seattle offense in a nice 5-3 Sox victory in front of a packed Comiskey Park.

One could argue that Javier Vazquez has been our most consistent pitcher since the All Star break. He has kept our beloved Sox in nearly every ballgame, and tonight would be no different, as the Seattle Mariners were forced to eat it to the tune of a 5-3 Sox triumph in front of a packed Comiskey Park.

Seattle scored single runs in the third, fourth, and fifth inning on homers by Kenji Johjima and Raul Ibanez, as well as a sac fly by Jose Vidro...But, enough about the M's; let's talk about our White Sox!

The first three runs for the Good Guys came via the solo shot. Jermaine Dye got us started off in the second, while Josh Fields got us going in the third and sixth. His first one conked off the left field fair pole, while his second was a no-doubter to deep center. When it seemed our Sox were reverting back to 2002-2004 Bash Ball, where homers defined the bulk of our offense, the seventh inning came! Dye scored his second run of the game on a double by Juan Uribe of all people, who scored on a triple by Darin Erstad!

Bobby Jenks did his business as usual, recording his ML-leading 33rd save of the season. Our beloved seek to win back-to-back games tomorrow night at 6:05 pm Chicago time. If you can't make it to the ballpark, don't feel shame. Just turn your television set to WGN to listen to Hawk and Stoney; you'll feel no pain!

Back to the Grind Update:
Scott Podsednik was caught stealing in the fifth; but, who cares? SOX WIN!
