WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

We Won! (I think)

July 1 vs. Kansas City Monarchs

Back to the Grind,
or Just Grinded?

Today's Sox cut of meat:
Only if KC is turkey or some other poultry

Short Take: How to Succeed (sort of) in Baseball Without Really Trying

Lemme see, as I write this, the game is over—I think. Of course ESPN still thinks it’s the bottom of the seventh inning and the Sox have a two-run lead. This despite the fact that their line score shows our guys with three runs. Whoops, I just hit refresh and—never mind. Still bottom of seven, 2-1. But let’s just pretend for now that we actually won the game. Sox 3, KC 1.

I can’t do a play-by-play because I didn’t actually score the game (too busy working). But I had it on my computer, and IIRC, it was the same ol’, same ol’. Great starting pitching, we got runners on, the runners were stranded, we built up a slim lead, which was threatened late in the game when we had to go to our—well, I guess you’d call it a “bullpen.” Although Boone Logan was okay today, Bobby Jenks gave us fits initially.

However, no matter how dull this game was, we won the game and the series. Nice! (At least I hope we did. Just checked ESPN and Kansas City is still batting in the bottom of the seventh. And our lead is still 2-1.) Let's hope ESPN doesn't decide we lost after all. I don't think I could bear it!

EDIT: It's a couple of hours after I wrote this and ESPN is reporting that we did, in fact, win the game 3-1. SO I guess it's official now

Back to the Grind Update:
Grinders were Jon (of course! Awesome pitching!), Paulie (nice solo homer), and I think we have to call out AJ. JUST MISSED a slam in the first!

Stellar pitching. Once again, this game should not have even been close.
