Same Crap, Different Day

June 6 vs New York Yankees

Back to the Grind,
or Just Grinded?

Today's Sox cut of meat:
Dog Food
Same crappyness we've seen throughout the season.

Short Take:   Another loss.

For those of you who still on.

It doesn't look good Sox fans. With another pathetic showing on the South Side tonight, our beloved Chicago White Sox fall three games under .500 and remain eight games out of first place in the AL Central with tonight's 5-1 loss.

If things weren't going bad enough, more bad news started off the day as Sox fans learned that Joe Crede was placed on the 15 day DL with his usual back problems. That meant Josh Fields was brought up in Crede's spot for the latest team member to be completly lifeless in the lineup, he went 0-3 in his first game of the 2007 season.

Javier Vazquez had his usual blowup tonight, but this time, he got it out of the way and had the Yankees tee off on him in the third inning. Vazquez was tagged for four runs in the inning. The inning started off with the works; A Miguel Cairo single, a Johnny Damon double, Derek Jeter single, Bobby Abreu walk, and an Alex Rodriguez single pretty much ended the game early with a 4-0 Yankee lead.

The Sox countered with a run in the third with a Juan Uribe ground out that scored Rob Mackowiak. Take that Yankees! Yeah! That'll show 'em!

The Yankees added another run off a solo home run from Areau in the eighth off new Sox call up Bret Prinz.

Yep, more of the same. The Sox should be paying us to watch them play. With only a little over two months into the season, most Sox fans are starting to think about a summer of meaningless baseball. A thought that most didn't think was possible, and a thought that haden't been around since the dreadful '02 season.

Tomorrow, it looks as if there will be yet another rainout. Forecasters are predicting "wrath of God" weather tomorrow and with the way the Sox have been calling games this year, dont be surprised if this one is called. If there is corspeball played tomorrow, Jose Contreras (4-5 4.29ERA) and Mike Mussina (2-3 6.25ERA) will make the start for their respective underachieving teams. Game time will be at 7:11pm and the game will be televised on WGN.

Back to the Grind Update:
This team does everything possible to lose.
