MacDougle Blows It

May 18th at The Urinal

Back to the Grind,
or Just Grinded?

Today's Sox cut of meat:
Cat Food
This is all Mike MacDougal deserves to eat tonight.

Short Take:In a nicely-pitched performance by Mark Buehrle, the bullpen, espeically Mike MacDougal blows it en route to a loss to Team Boyz Town.

Mark Buehrle grew up in suburban St. Louis, so hatred of the Cubs has been something that has been imbedded in himself for a very long time. He has been able to, for the most part, take that hatred into his own hands as a Sox pitcher, dazzling Team Boyz Town to sleep. This time, the bullpen, namely Mike MacDougal, blew it for him in a 6-3 loss.

Things looked awesome until the seventh inning stretch. In the top of the second, Juan Uribe was able to sacrifice Paul Konerko home. Michael Barrett and Jermaine traded long balls in the bottom of the second and the top of the third, making the score 2-1 in favor of the only team in Chicago to win the World Series in any of our lives. That lead would double, as Toby Hall doubled to lead off the seventh, coming home on a double by Darin Erstad.

Cue seventh inning stretch; cue poor pitching by the bullpen, as well as sub-par fielding.

All you have to know about the rest of the game is that Buehrle left the game with two on and two out in the bottom of that seventh inning, and the usually steady bullpen blew it for him, especially MacDougal, who allowed both runners to score, as well as was credited with three others, closing out the scoring for the game in the bottom of the eighth.

Before any fan of Team Boyz Town even THINKS of croaking, win a darn World Series first! Until then, we Sox fans will ALWAYS have the trump card over Loserville.

The Sox seek a series equalizer tomorrow in the early afternoon, as Javier Vazquez will face Jason Marquis. Gametime is at 2:55 and can be seen on FOX Chicago.
