Business on the mound, party in the field!

September 2 vs. Tigers

How many Grinders did KW use today:
"Freddy keeps the Tigers tamed, Everett & Uribe both w/ 3-run HR."

Short Take:  Freddy Garcia recovers from his last start with a dominating evening. The Sox pounded Sean Douglass for a 9-1 victory.

The White Sox hit parade continued tonight on the South Side behind Freddy Garcia's dominating start over the Detriot Tigers. When Willie Harris has a home run in the game, you know things are going well. The Sox got some early offense to help Freddy pick up his first home victory since June 25 and bringing his record to 12-7.

The ass-kicking started in the second inning when A.J. Pierzysnki hit a RBI single to put the Sox on the board. The inning continued with a three run jack by Juan Uribe to make it a 4-0 Sox lead. The lone Tigers run came in the fourth inning when Chris Shelton got the Tigers their first hit of the game which was a double, he advanced to third base on a deep fly by Ivan Rodriguez. Shelton scored on a strike out/wild pitch which would've been the third out of the inning...if not for Freddy's pitch.

With two outs in the fourth inning Juan Uribe walked which was followed up by a big single by Scott Podsednik to keep the inning going. Pablo Ozuna came up and knocked Uribe in with a RBI single. To cap the inning off, Carl Everett made it a 8-1 lead with one beautiful swing to hit the ball in the lonely Tigers bullpen. For added kicks, Willie Harris turned and burned on a Chris Spurling offering in the sixth inning for his first home run of the season to make it 9-1 Pale Hose!

Freddy turned it over to David Sanders after seven innings of two hit ball while giving up just one run. Sanders worked a scoreless frame and Bobby Jenks finished the game off with a 1-2-3 inning.

The Sox move to a cool 82-51 record and tomorrow Mark Buehrle will try and recover like Freddy did when he goes up against Nate Robertson. Game time is the usual Saturday 6:05pm start. The game will be televised on WGN.

Ozzieball Update:
Big hits to keep the innings going; four 2-out RBI's for our Sox tonight!
