Just Another Day At The Office

June 22 vs. Royals

How many Grinders did KW use today:
"Buehrle brillant...again. Shingo looking better, and Iguchi, Thomas, Konerko, and Everett get it done with the bats.."

Short Take:  Sox contiunue to own the Royals as they win 5-1 for their second straight series sweep!

Mark Buehrle improved to 9-1 on the season and dominated the Royals Wednesday afternoon as the Sox sweep the Royals and win their seventh in a row to improve their record to 49-22!

The Sox have flat out smacked around the Royals in 2005 and today was no different. With two outs in the third inning, Pablo Ozuna drew a walk and he scored on Tadahito Iguchi's double. Iguchi scored on Frank Thomas's double that made it 2-0 off the Royals starter J.P. Howell.

The Sox put up three runs in their half of the fifth. Again with two outs, Thomas drew a walk and Paul Konerko doubled to have runners on second and third. Carl Everett came up and jacked a three run home run to make the score 5-0.

While the Sox put runs on the board, Buehrle was keeping the Royals off it. He continues to look even better as he does from his previous starts. He went eight inning, five hits, and gave up a run, but it wasn't earned, and struck out six. It was Shingo time again in the ninth as he pitched a 1-2-3 inning to nail it down.

The Sox continue to steam roll through the first half of the season. 49-22 is where the Sox stand right now and after tomorrow's off day the Sox take on the Cubs in the second part of the 2005 crosstown showdown. Freddy Garcia will start at The Cell against the Cubs Sergio Mirte. First pitch is at 3:05pm and it can be seen on WGN.

Ozzieball Update:
All runs came with two outs. Thats getting it done.
