WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

The offense saves the day!

May 21 vs Toronto Blue Jays

Today's temperature:
"Damn, I hope that helped cool things off!"

Short Take:Sox come from behind, how rare is that?

  • Mark Buehrle continues to be unimpressive as the "supposed" ace of this staff,he pitched well enough to get bailed out for no decision in this contest.Hey Mark, just so you know, you have to pitch well to get a big money contract,do you have any intention of doing that this year?
  • The Sox defense did little,if nothing,to inspire Mark to pitch well tonite. With the play in the first two innings it is no wonder Mark was wary of putting anything hittable near the plate,he was convinced it would fall for a hit or get botched. The experiment has been tried,it has failed, this team needs a center fielder, call up Joe Borchard, even if he can't produce at the plate what he saves them in defense will make up for it.
  • Tony Graffinino started the scoring with a homerun in the third, and of course it was a solo shot.Is there any team in the league that has more solo home runs that the White Sox? For a team that was built on offense this is becoming more than ridiculous.
  • Tom Gordon, the human cartoon character, did quite a bit to add to trade value again, perhaps we are seeing the true reason of why he was signed in the first place, not to replace Antonio Osuna, but to give this team more ammo to sell at the trade deadline. What do you know,Kenny had a plan!
  • When did Willie Harris become a defensive replacement? Armando Rios is brutal in center field, but Willie is more like a bad joke,he manages to combine a lack of judgement off the ball with a pus arm better than all of the rotten outfielders that have ever played the game.
  • Paul Konerko has been allowed to try and hit out of his slump, and in the last two games it is starting to look like he is doing just that, going 2-4 tonite with a homerun.Perhaps the rumors of hip dysplatia have been grossly exagerated?
  • Tomorrow Jon Garland takes the hill against the Murder City Kitties, hopefully he will hand Mike Maroth his tenth loss,so that he starts the season 0-10,how much faith do you have?

Tinkerer Update:
Joe Crede rode the pine tonite,so that Tony G. could get a start at third base.
