KC Crowns Sox!

April 15th vs Kansas City

Today's temperature:
"The team has to find a way to win these big games."

Sox fans, Sox team equally disgusting

  • The White Sox were thoroughly embarrassed at US Cellular Field this evening. Plenty of lowlights to be had: from some punk attacking the 1st base ump to Billy Koch blowing a save and eating 8-5 loss to streaking KC.
  • Full moon fever jinxed Sox bats, as Royals pitchers managed to retire 10 straight as they cruise to an 8-5 win.
  • Frank Thomas took one for the team early on, getting drilled by a pitch which keyed a 3 run first inning, and added a solo HR in the 8th which COULD have won the game were it not for the Sox bullpen melting down. .
  • Billy Koch should have the "K" surgically removed from his name after his complete inability to retire batters. Wild Billy gave up 4 runs on 4 hits while retiring only one batter in a nightmarish 9th inning. Billy may throw hard, but when proven Sox-killer Mike Sweeney is at the plate, the ball is only going to come off the bat harder. Sweeney's 2 run shot put the Royals ahead for good.
  • Armando Rios was one of the few bright spots for the Sox, flashing some leather as well as going 2 for 3 with a walk..
  • Mark Buerhle did manage to strike out 6 Royals to no avail getting stuck with a no decision after being pulled in the 7th for Tom "Crash" Gordon. He's gotta be salivating for that fat contract the Cards will be offering him sooner or later.
  • Sox fans, PLEASE get out to the park and show the MLB world that we're not a bunch of white trash hicks who like to run on the field. This is DISGUSTING...we have an All Star Game to host in 3 months, and I wouldn't blame MLB for pulling it away from us after this sorry display. We're making drunken Cubs fans look like geniuses after this debacle. Same 2 teams square off tomorrow. Let's hope both the team on the field and the security force off it show a little more muscle.

Tinkerer Update:
Rios starts in CF and produces. Alomar back in the lineup and fails to show the magic he had early on.
