Hang Ten on Twinkies!

September 20 vs. Minnesota

Kenny Williams'
Stress Relief Odometer

Today's Mileage:
"If anyone else runs onto the field, I'm going to invoke the diminished skills clause on Sox Security!"

Totally Biased
Series Update

Short Take:  Even Danny Wright looked good.

  • It's a shame these games against the Minnesota Twins are meaningless, because it sure would have felt good for Sox Fans to watch their team spank these three-legged mongrels with their "A" team on the field.  Not this year.  Sox beat the Twinkies 10-2, which is about as good as it will get for us the rest of the month.
  • Danny Wright won this thirteenth game throwing eight innings and shutting down a collection of misfit toys the Twins put in their lineup.  There is no running away from that pathetic 5.29 ERA of his, but at least tonight he looked like he had a clue out there.
  • Wasn't it nice to see Gary Glover come out of the bullpen, Sox Fans?  It was nothing short of flat-out cheapness that had "Cooter" Williams and "Boss Hogg" Reinsdorf taking a turn in the rotation every fifth day.  His ridiculous 5.22 ERA might be half as large had he been used in long and short relief duty this year, a role he was succeeding at before the Two Buffoons of Hazzard County decided they couldn't afford to field a winner this year.
  • The mighty Sox "O" caught a break when Rick Reed left the game early as a precaution.  The Twins have more important games to play than the Chicago White Sox.  Only Jose Valentin's dinger left any visible marks on the guy who will be pitching this October.  It sure would be nice if the Sox could manage that feat someday.
  • With Reed gone, the Sox lit up the Twinkie bullpen.  They scored eight runs the next three innings.  A pair of errors by the Twinkie junior varsity helped the Sox feeding frenzy, too.
  • There is no mistaking the Sox are playing better ball of late.  Of course hasn't playing well after the heat is off been their forte for years now?  The real crucible to test their mettle won't come for over six months--and we know their record when it truly counts.  Ah, baseball in Chicago...

Tinkerer Update:
Jimenez moves to 2B while Harris gets benched.  Hey, where's Jeff Liefer?
