Can we accumulate any more single A pitchers this year?

A minor rant

From time to time the Farm Section will post some rants from our guest writers.  Today's Rant is from a LONG time Sox fan, Dr. Drew.

The White Sox have screwed it up...again. They could have traded Carlos
Lee and Carlos Lee to get some decent pitching.

Yes...Carlos Lee AND Carlos Lee. Unbeknownst to most Sox fans is the
fact that Carlos Lee has a brother at Class A in the Sox farm system.
His name: Carlos Lee. Please feel free to insert your own George
Foreman joke here.

This fact got me to wondering whether or not this was another Kenny
Williams screw-up. Remember when Williams thought he was trading for a
promising young minor league prospect when he was actually dealing for
an aging marginal minor leaguer with a similar name? Maybe Kenny read
in the newspaper that the Sox didn't have enough horses to contend, so
he went out and signed El Caballo's brother.

Actually, I can see Williams in his office, excitedly rubbing his hands
together while devilishly muttering, "We can't lose now...I OWN the
Carlos Lee market!" Can't you just picture little Kenny whining to
Jerry Reinsdorf: "Uncle Jerry, my Carlos Lee isn't working so good
anymore...can I get another one?"

The Sox missed a golden opportunity a few years ago. They could have
traded "Carlos Squared" along with Ray and Chad Durham (Ray's sibling is
also a Sox farmhand) to the A's for Jason and Jeremy Giambi. You know,
Lee, Lee, Durham and Durham for Giambi and Giambi. Hell, Ray ended up
in Oakland anyway.

I wonder if the other Carlos Lee has a good glove in the field. If not,
that's something Carlos Lee, Carlos Lee and Kenny Williams all have in

It's a good thing Todd Ritchie doesn't have a brother...
