Pre-Game Report

Whatever small bounce the Sox received from calling up so many young minor leaguers has officially ended.  Now instead of sucking with motionless veterans, the Sox are sucking with unrefined motionless youngsters.

Yeah, but at least they're cheap, ain't that right Mr. Chairman?

Sox lose to Tampa Bay 10-3.  They have a chance Monday afternoon to lose 3 of 4 to this miserable outfit.  The ugly truth for Sox Fans is that now it's our team that is truly the miserable outfit.  Not allowing Reinsdorf to slither off to Florida back in '88 is looking more and more like a mistake.  We could have laughed ourselves onto the floor watching his pathetic wretch of a team play inside this pathetic wretch of a ballpark in front of this pathetic wretch of a fanbase.  Ah, dreams...

Ace Mark Buehrle was lit for five runs on eleven hits, chased in the seventh inning.

Reliever Rocky Biddle got one out, but not before allowing another four earned runs, not counting the inherited runner he tagged Buehrle with.

New everyday centerfielder Aaron Rowand botched in the field.  Newcomer Josh Paul dropped strike three then sent the batter to second base on a crap peg to first base that got past Paul Konerko.

The Sox left eleven runners on base.  Special mention goes to Konerko and Paul who left two on base with two out, and Magglio Ordonez who did so once.  Outstanding job, gentlemen!

Frank Thomas slid at homeplate.  He was out from here to there.  Nice job, Wavin' Wallace Johnson!

And of course Jerry "The Tinkerer" Manuel left his hottest hitter of the past week, Willie Harris, sitting on the bench.  Inexplicably, career scrub-beanie Tony Graffanino played second base and leadoff man.  What's the cliche about a silk purse from a sow's ear?  Tell that to the Tinkerer.

Everyone mailed it in.  Everyone sucked.

This ain't big league baseball.  Spend your money elsewhere.
