Pre-Game Report

It's official; the Sox suck.  Pick your own personal villain, there are plenty to go around for everyone.  The boos rained down on Jerry "The Tinkerer" Manuel and the team he has quite obviously lost in the clubhouse.  The Sox have been mailing it in for over a week now, so no surprise at all they should embarrass themselves again. Sox lose to the pathetic Cleveland Indians 9-3, dropping the series, and falling four games beneath .500.

The owners and players want to fight over money?  Good riddance!  The sooner this second-rate show closes down, the better.  Sox Fans are paying major league money for half-ass effort.

If the Sox suck, it's Todd Ritchie's lips on the tube.  This worthless pile of dung lost his eleventh game of the year, serving two gopher pitches including a grand slam in two pathetic innings worked.  His earned run average has ballooned to a Navarro-esque 5.82.  My God, even Jaime was good for eating innings!  This guy is taxing our bullpen like a double-A rookie.

The score was 9-0 after 2.5 innings.  Game over.  As lousy as the Tribe are, this wasn't Andy MacFail's train wreck we were facing today.  Only the Cubune would let a numbskull that big keep his job after the enormous mess he has made.  Even after dumping their #1 pitcher, Cleveland can be counted on to put up more of a fight than the Lovable Losers.

The Sox got a hit and a homer to make it 9-2.  After that it was six innings of corpseball.  Jerry the Tinkerer had a new lineup to showoff.  Though they collected just five hits, these losers still managed to strand six runners on base.  Special mention goes to Aaron Rowand and Jeff Liefer for combining to leave three runners stranded in scoring position with two out.  Make sure you both whine to the press.  You'll probably make the Tinkerer's everyday lineup.  It's worked for every other crybaby for over a year now.

The Sox did nothing the final three innings of the game.  A pair of Sandy Alomar singles came to nothing with Royce Clayton doing whatever you call what he's doing in the #9 slot.  The rest of the lineup did no better.

Booing a ball team is rarely deserved.  Right now, this team deserves every bit of it.
