Enquiring Sox Fans want to know!

If only Sox Fans knew...
 Last Series vs. New York
  • This is the first time the White Sox and Mets have ever faced each other.
 Totally Biased Sox Notes
  • Since the 7-game losing streak started (May 26, vs. Detroit), the Sox's heart of the order; Frank Thomas, Magglio Ordonez and Paul Konerko, have disappeared.  The three have a combined 2 home runs and 12 RBIs in since May 26.
  • Todd Ritchie has lost his last six starts, dating back to May 9.  Since then, his ERA has ballooned from 3.18 to 4.44, however, the Sox are only averaging 2.2 runs per game in that span.
  • Speaking of Ritchie, he is the only Sox projected starter who has seen the Mets before in his career.  In 22 IP, he has allowed 12 R (all earned) on 17 H, with 7 walks and 17 Ks, for an ERA of 4.91 and a career record of 0-1.
  • The Sox have lost 7 of their last 9 home games.
 Know thy Enemy!
  • The Mets have the second lowest ERA in the Majors at 3.38, and despite their much maligned defense, the Mets have only allowed 25 unearned runs to score this year.
  • The Mets are 17-17 away from New York this year.
  • While none of the Met starters have never faced the Sox, Pedro Astacio has faced Royce Clayton, Jose Valentin, and Paul Konerko before.  D'Amico has faced Kenny Lofton and Al Leiter has faced Tony Graffanino and Valentin beforehand.  The forementioned Sox are hitting .226 (7-31) with 1 home run off these pitchers.  Uh oh.
  • The Mets are not a slick fielding team at all, as they have committed 56 errors so far this year.  That's almost 1 per game, folks.
 What to watch for!
  • Can Todd Ritchie break his losing streak?
  • Can the Sox break their losing streak?  Hey, one New York team started us in this tailspin, can we bust out against the other?
  • Will the Sox ever remember how to hit?
  • How many more times will Carlos Lee get picked off at third base, in the ninth inning, in a 1-run ball game?
