WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

New day but the same crap from the Sox

TMay 24th v Minnesota

Sox Project Update:
None
"Oh, did you want to us to build something?"

Short Take:   Sox cap 2-5 homestand with an 8-1 loss to the Twins

This year is akin to hiring a construction crew to build a deck and telling them you'll be away for a few days, but have the project done when you get back. And when you get back the crew is passed out drunk on the lawn and have only punched a huge hole in the side of your house and damaged the foundation.

That's the way the 2015 rebuild has gone for the Sox. Maybe even worse.

This game started to go bad with the first hitter, Brian Dozier. He took Quintana deep and the Sox fell behind 1-0, but to the Sox credit, this game didn't completely out of hand until the fourth.

That's when Adam Eaton whiffed on a ball hit right to him, leading to a leadoff double. That came around to score on a hit by Mauer, and Plouffee then singled putting runners on the corners with no outs. Tori Hunter then hit what should have been a double play ball, but Quintana deflected it off his glove and couldn't get Hunter out at first.

Those runners wound up tagging up on a fly ball to right, because Garcia is essentially playing on one leg and took awhile in getting over to the ball. Quintana then walked someone named Hermann, loading the bases and of course the Twins got a hit and that brought in two more runs.

At this point it became a question of how much would the Sox lose by and how massive of a breakdown would Hawk have.

Abreu hit a solo, opposite field homer to make it a 5-1 ball game, but that was it. It was good to see him show some power because that was only his second homer of May and only his fourth extra base hit.

But the hopes of a comeback were squashed when the Twins put up three more on ANOTHER home-run by Dozier.

Meanwhile, the White Sox wrap up a 2-5 homestead that saw them go from one game over .500 to three games under. Now they get ready to go on an eleven game road trip that could wind up completely sinking the season.

Let's see if the contractors are still passed out drunk on the lawn when the Sox get back.
