Mark Buehrle pitched a complete game.  The media says, "So what?"

Mark Buehrle didn't allow a single earned run.  The media shrugs its shoulders.

Mark Buehrle claims his eighth victory of the season, leading every pitcher in the American league.  The media simply yawns.

Mark Buehrle is just 23 years-old, beats a team on a six-game winning streak, and joins his young teammates, 24 year-old Danny Wright and 22 year-old Jon Garland, in three consecutive wins for our Sox, their victories coming against the team with the best record in baseball.

The media says, "We're saving our ink for Mark Prior's next start!"

The Sox beat Detroit 12-1 at Comiskey Park.  They keep their share of the first-place in the A.L. Central Division.   14,597 Sox Fans were there to witness it, spoiling all those magnificent vistas of empty blue seats.  Can't the media catch a break in this town?

Paul Konerko is absolutely on fire.  The Sox firstbasemen had another phenomenal night, going 3 for 5 at the plate with four runs batted in.  He's batting .358 and went yard with a three-run dinger, one of three the Sox collected in this game.  Magglio Ordonez and Frank Thomas each had one, too.  Kenny Lofton hit a solo shot.

Jose Valentin's struggles in the #6 slot took a turn for the better, going 3 for 4 with a walk and a run scored.  The top six hitters in the line up accounted for 13 of the Sox' 14 hits.  Even slumping Ray Durham collected two hits and two walks.  Let's hope this continues!

Minnesota won to keep even with the Sox.  Somewhere in Chicago, there is a casual baseball fan scratching their head wondering why it's so hard to find more information about a first-place baseball team.  We know in our hearts that this person truly exists.

The people running Chicago's sports media ought to answer to this fan.  Lord knows they don't answer to Sox Fans.

Sox Clubhouse "Pick to Click" Winner

Mark Buehrle

A full nine innings, allowing just one unearned run, five hits, one walk and five strikeouts.  His eighth victory of the season leads the league, but that hardly merits a five-page spread in the Sun-Times, right Sox Fans?
