April 17 vs. Cleveland.

Short take:  Big "O" keeps rolling, right over the Tribe!

Sox Fans, who's on a roll now?  The pathetic rabble of Tribe fans, visiting Chicago from the Armpit of Ohio, are now in full retreat.  After an 11-1 start, the Indians are reeling from two convincing defeats to the division's best team, our beloved Pale Hose!  Sure, we still play these guys another 17 times, but after watching Wednesday's game, can there be any doubt which team is the real favorite for the title?  Sox win 7-2, their seventh in eight games.

After yet another Tribe collapse, who doubts the Indians' official merchandise sales (featuring that lame "J" logo) won't collapse soon, too?

Mark Buehrle was roughed up early.  That toad from Minnesota, Matt Lawton, tried to make up for his fielding gaffe yesterday by taking the Sox staff ace downtown to leadoff the first inning.  It's a measure of how lousy this year's Tribe line up has become, that Omar Vizquel would be slotted #2 in their line up.  The miserable curmudgeon managed to tag Buehrle with a double, then come home on an infield single.  The Sox were down 2-0 before their first at-bats.

No problem.  The much-improved bottom of the Sox line up got things started in the third inning.  After barely two weeks of games, the productivity of the 2002 team's #7-#9 hitters is probably closing in on the total achieved the entire first three months of 2001.  Sandy Alomar led off the inning with a single, and Royce Clayton walked.

With ducks on the pond, the top of the Sox line up becomes lethal.  Kenny Lofton, Ray Durham, and Frank Thomas all reached base.  It was Durham driving a 2-1 pitch that tied the game.  Along with the Big Hurt's rbi single, and sacrifice fly by Paul Konerko, the Sox took a 4-2 lead. They made it look easy.

The Sox started pouring in on, scoring again in the fifth, sixth, and eighth innings.  Ray Durham and Kenny Lofton were everywhere.  Ray figured in the scoring all four innings the Sox plated runs.  Lofton was 3 for 5 with three runs scored.  To totally biased Sox Fans, the top of the Sox line up is site to behold!

Buerhle settled in nicely.  He went eight full innings, earning his fourth victory to lead the majors.  His ERA is a microscopic 1.33.  Yeah, but Peter Gammons will still ignore him on Baseball Tonight.

Keith Foulke pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning, but didn't get his fifth save of the season because Cleveland sucks too much to make it a save situation.  Yes Sox Fans, we'll just have to satisfy ourselves sweeping these jerks on Thursday, laughing and taunting them the remainder of the season.  Who can forget their loudmouth centerfielder talking trash about our team last month?

Milton Bradley, don't disrespect the Bing!

Ray Durham

3 for 4 at the plate, 4 rbi's, 2 stolen bases, a sacrifice fly, a nice over the shoulder catch in short right field.  Sold churros on the main concourse between innings, too.
