WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Danks Doesn't Stank

June 4 at Dodgers

Daily Sox Crop Report:
Rotten tomatoes? bumper crop?
Leury Garcia homered; Putnam and Belisario solid in the bullpen

Short Take:   Sox beat Dodgers 2-1 as Leury Garcia and Dunn hit solo home runs; Danks solid on hill

Totally Biased paragraph.  The Sox defeated the Dodgers 2-1 Wednesday night in Los Angeles, taking two of three from their hosts. John Danks (4-5) got the win for the Sox, pitching 7 1/3 innings of two-hit, one-run baseball. Solo home runs from Leury Garcia and Adam Dunn provided all the offense the Sox would need.

Was Wednesday night's game Danks showing that he can be a damn good pitcher when everything is right. Five Ks and three walks to go along with two hits and one earned run? Damn good. If the Sox are going to stick around in the division and wild-card races, Danks has to continue to provide great efforts such as this one.

Top four hitters in the lineup each had one hit. Hell, just to prove that it was the Sox' night, Alejandro DeAza even had two hits, raising his average to a robust .180. After Matt Kemp, nice batting order for LA. Scott Van Slyke, Justin Turner and Drew Butera? Yeah, right. Don Mattingly wasn't kidding when he said his team "wasn't very good."

WSI's
The Futures Market:
I'm buying the Sox future right now. Two straight wins over LA, one game over .500 for the season. Just still a fun team to watch.

Two hits, one earned run over 7 1/3. What's not to like about that?
