WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Just one of those sixty

May 2nd at Cleveland

Daily Sox Crop Report:
Crop failure
Danks falls flat and Eaton leaves early

Short Take:   White Sox fall behind early and stay behind in Cleveland

As Hawk would say, every team is going to win 60, every team is going to lose 60 and it's what you do with those other 42. Well, this was one of those 60 games we were destined to lose.

The Sox had runners on the corners in the first and couldn't bring anyone home. They then gave up five in the bottom of the inning. That was the game in a nutshell.

The Sox would score some runs and threaten to come back but could never quite seal the deal.

Danks struggled all night and Scott Downs has struggled all year and kept continuing that trend when he came in in the sixth and gave up two more runs in a third of an inning.

As painful as Sox pitching was tonight, the real blow came in the top of the 4th when Adam Eaton hurt his hamstring trying to beat out a double play. After the game he said he might need to go on the DL, which means the Sox outfield might consist of De Aza in left, Danks in center and Viciedo in right.

That possibility is enough to give the Sox pitching nightmare for weeks on end.

WSI's
The Futures Market:
Sell. As bad as Sox pitching has looked so far, it will look a lot worse if Eaton is on the shelf and the Sox outfield consists of De Aza, Danks and Viciedo.
