Can't we blame Konerko?

July 21 vs Texas Rangers

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

These aren't even cards!

Short Take:   Sox offense decides to gamble elsewhere

Another night, another offensive egg laid. Scott Feldman took the mound for Texas in his first year as a starter. The Sox had previously roughed him up as a reliever to the tune of four runs on seven hits across three and two thirds innings. But like most starters the Sox see for the first time, the offense just can't get it done. Feldman goes six strong and gives up just one run on four hits. TCQ scored the lone Sox run in this dud, a solo homer in the 4th. Current favorite fan scapegoat Le Paulie Konerko is pseudo off the hook as he gets credit for one of the Sox four hits. He stranded two though so let the whips continue to crack. Crede should get the knives for this one as he goes 0-3 with 1 K and strands three. Boo this man!

Javy had a decent outing but timing was not in his favor as he walks Young with two outs in the third. This brought Man Mountain Josh Hamilton to the plate and he placed a hanging pitch into the ivy in center field. Despite than that gaff, Javy still had a quality outing: 7 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 10 K. Solid numbers had he been able to get some offensive support. Bullpen continues to struggle as Logan is torched for four hits and three runs of his own in the 8th. What Javy gave up in 113 pitches, Logan gave up in only 22. Grow a beard, you hippie.

Sox never really threatened in this one. Konerko reached third in the 2nd but that's about it. hitting into three double plays didn't help the offense's cause either. Oh, and Cabrera and Ramirez each had an error as well. Classic action, classic loss. Texas takes the opener, 6-1. At least the Twins lost as well.
