Sox Limp into the Break

July 13th at Texas Rangers

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
Great! You've got four-of-a-kind, and they draw to a royal flush. When they come to town, let's flush them!

Short Take: It’s the All-Star Break and we’re still in first, so what the hell?

Just how long WAS this game, anyway? Seemed to go on for days. Unfortunately, when the smoke cleared, the wrong team had more runs. Final score: Rangers 12, Sox 11.

I guess I could recap this entire game if I wanted to get carpal (sp?) tunnel syndrome, but I don’t, so here comes the rapidfire recap, which I just may trademark. (Key: “We” equals “us”; “they” equals “them”)

We scored three in the first; they scored one in the first. We scored one in the second; they scored three in the second. We scored one in the third; they scored three in the third. Nobody scored in the fourth, but hey! we scored one in the fifth and they didn’t. After five, they 7, we 6.

Nobody scored in the sixth. We scored one in the seventh; they scored three. We scored one in the eighth; they scored two. We scored three in the ninth, but dadgummit! we needed to score four to tie, five to win.

Yabbut, the Twins lost, too. So we maintain our 1.5 game lead over those pests. Let’s take the break to regroup, then come back and put this division in our pockets!

Enjoy the All-Star Game, all who watch it. I’m kind of hoping for a “Law and Order” marathon!
