WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda

April 22 vs. Evil Empire

"These ain't your daddy's White Sox... We're going to keep going after a championship as aggressively as we can."

KW's Hole Cards:
The River
The White Sox were rivered tonight by the bat of Bobby Abreau.

Short Take:Octavio Dotel ruins the evening for every Sox fan in attendance by giving up a grand salami to Bobby Abreu.

Sox fans are the best arm chair managers in baseball. 99% of the Sox fans in attendance at tonight's affair against the New York Yankees knew something that Ozzie didn't: DON'T ALLOW OCTAVIO DOTEL TO FACE MORE THAN ONE BATTER, or you'll set your team up for failure. Unfortunately, Dotel screwed up what appeared to be a promising outcome 2/3 of the way into the game, ultimately forcing Sox fans to the exits on the unhappy end of a 9-5 score.

The Sox took a 3-2 lead going into the seventh inning thanks to a double by Juan Uribe in the second frame, knocking in Joe Crede and TCQ (THE Carlos Quentin, for those of you not "in the know"). Three frames later, O-Cab scored on a two-bagger by the Paulie Konerko.

Exit positivity. Open floodgates. The seventh inning came and conquered our Sox, as Doltel (intentially misspelled for effect) was left in to face one too many batters, and Bobby Abreu took him deep for a grand salami. Our Sox drew a run closer to make it a 6-4 game; however, Matt Thornton gave up a three-run round-tripper to Jesus Christ Super Star (that's Johnny Damon, if you remember how he looked before the Yankees forced him to become clean-shaved).

AJ Pierzynski hit one out into the night in the final frame to give Sox fans a chance of at least seeing SOME fireworks tonight. At 11 pm, this 9-inning affair ended with the wrong team winning. We'll get those suckers tomorrow night on national TV, as our ace Javier Vazquez hits the bump for the South Siders. Gametime is at 7:11 once again (oh, thank heaven!) and can be seen on CSN or ESPN (although you probably shouldn't tune into the later if you don't want to deal with all of the Yankee love that is bound to fill the airwaves the entire game).

WSI's
Quest For the Final Table Update:
Thanks to the "Dolt of the evening" (Dotel), this table was turned on us!

Joe Crede

Great defense and wasn't quite anemic offensively.
