WSI News - Totally Biased Game Recaps

Friday the 13th Blues

July 13 at Baltimore Orioles

Back to the Grind,
or Just Grinded?

Today's Sox cut of meat:
Upchuck
What Mark Buehrle is doing after getting no run support.

Short Take:The Sox left their bats at their hotel, as they couldn't help Mark Buehrle's great outing turn into a victory.

It was Mark Buehrle's first outing since signing the big contract extension that will assure all Sox fans of seeing one of the biggest heroes in our franchise's history for at least a few more years. Unfortunately, the offense was lulled to sleep by Eric Bedard and the huge strike zone he was given all night en route to being shut out 2-0.

The Orioles got all they needed in the top of the fourth, as Nick Markakis hit a lead-off round-tripper of the solo brand to give Baltimore a 1-0 lead. Corey Patterson, who had a hot-hitting series when he was here last week, added to the total the next inning with an insurance blast of his own.

It is unfortunate that our beloved Palehose couldn't capitalize on a ducks-on-the-pond with one out situation in the seventh or a first-and-second with one out situation in the nineth, meaning that our guys couldn't touch home plate once all night. Hopefully our Sox can break this pattern of trading wins with Baltimore and finish off this series with two solid wins. Tomorrow night's game has Javier Vazquez set up to face Daniel Cabrera at 6:05 pm. It can be seen on WGN. LET'S GO SOX!

Back to the Grind Update:
GRINDER? The Sox couldn't even score a run tonight, and you want me to talk about GRINDERS???

Accounted for half of the Sox' hits, yet he wasn't even able to score, which spells brutality!
