Know Your Enemy!

Totally Biased
Series Update

Short Take:  Mediocrity, thy name is White Sox.

  • Like kissing your sister, the 2002 Chicago White Sox are providing ever more cheap thrills for their fans.  Our Pale Hose beat the pathetic Kansas City Royals 3-1 and return once more to .500.  Catch the feeling, Sox Fans!
  • Some Einstein out there ought to calculate what the odds would be for a 5-team division, playing an unbalanced schedule with itself, to emerge after 162 games with only one team over .500.  Suspicious Sox Fans are beginning to think the Law of the Universe is the real factor behind this recent win streak.
  • The Sox have won 5 of 6 and 17 of their last 24.  You can bet official Reinsdorf mouthpiece, Hawk Harrelson, will be quoting you these numbers ad nauseam the remainder of the month .  Despite what you might be dreaming, their record next spring will still only be 0-0, and no matter how many games they win the next two weeks, they're going home September 29.  86 years and waiting...
  • Jon Garland got his twelfth win in spite of being chased in the sixth inning.  Mike Porzio pitched out of a jam, then teamed up with Antonio Osuna and Damaso Marte to hold Kansas City to just one hit the remainder of the way.
  • Jerry Manuel must have been quite excited to see how the Sox scored runs.  Joe Crede spotted the Sox the lead with a sacrifice fly, Miguel Olivo drew a bases loaded walk (on four pitches) to score another, and Frank Thomas added a solo homerun.  Could the Expos have done it any better?
  • The upper deck is officially closed for the remainder of the season.  Minor renovations are underway for next year's all-star game.  Did somebody from the White Sox finally admit they goofed designing that monstrosity and spending the last eleven years stonewalling the issue?  Not a chance.  This brilliantly marketed outfit sure knows how to build a fan base!

WSI's
Tinkerer Update:
Jimenez benched, while Liefer goes to LF.  Olivo, and Borchard start and Harris plays 2B and leads off.  Is this the "magic bullet" lineup?  Nah.
