Garland shines!

September 12 at Kansas City

Know Your Enemy!

Totally Biased
Series Update

Short Take:  Two-hitter, Sox take series 3-1!

  • If the Sox could play a full season against Kansas City like these last four games, they would finish with 121 wins!  Hey, let's not give Bud Selig any ideas!  Sox win 5-1 and the take the series 3 games to 1.
  • Jon Garland was brilliant through seven innings.  That's when the king of the pitch counts, Jerry Manuel, came and got him.  The over/under on Garland was 105 pitches.  It's a push, and the house cleans up.
  • Kudos to #3 wannabe Carlos Lee, a 3 for 4 day with a walk and a ribbie.  Thumbs up to old-timer Jose Valentin with three hits of his own.  What are the odds "The Tinkerer" will bench both of them in NYC tomorrow?  Vegas odds-makers are working overtime!
  • Holy cow!  The Sox are 19-9 when either Willie Harris or D'Angelo Jimenez bat leadoff.  What are the odds "The Tinkerer" benches both of them, too?  Don't laugh too hard, Sox Fans--Jerry doesn't read the box scores.
  • Keith "I'm in the Doghouse, and I don't know why" Foulke got to pitch both the eighth and ninth innings allowing just one hit.  His ERA is down to 3.17.  He's out of here first chance he gets.
  • It was one year ago and a day the White Sox flew to New York for the first of a 3-game series, September 11-13, 2001.  Now they return for the first time in 2002.  It would be a hell of a rivalry if Bud Selig didn't keep making us play Kansas City.

Tinkerer Update:
"B" team game?.  Thomas and Konerko sit.  Borchard bats #8 while Jimenez leads off and plays 2B.  A tinkering lollapalooza!

Jon Garland

A two-hitter in seven innings of one-run ball.  Made just one mistake, a solo dinger to Ibanez.
