Running through Gloom!

Brandon McCarthy goes toe-to-toe with Johan Santana, but Sox strand runners in scoring position in 8th, 9th, and 10th innings en route to embarrassing 4-1, 11-inning loss and 1 1/2 game division lead.
September 20... Joe Does His Thing
Back and forth they went but Joe Crede hits a walk off home run for a 7-6 win in 10 innings moving the Sox back up 3 1/2 in the A.L. Central.
September 19... Offense rallies, Bullpen blows
Indians jump to 4-0 lead on Freddy Garcia, Sox offense rallies for 5-4 lead, Cleveland scores final three runs of game in 8th and 9th innings to take series opener, 7-5.
Controlling Destiny!
The task of cooling off Cleveland falls to the Sox, and the outcome decides each team's fate. The Sox have owned Cleveland along with everyone else in the division this side of Minnenoplace, but that's small comfort to fretful Sox Fans notes WSI's Hal Vickery.

September 17...Santana Won't Change His Evil Ways
Johan Santana continues his evil ways, baffling Sox hitters all game long, recording a sad four-hit shutout.
September 14... MERCY!
Dustin Hermanson gives up three runs in the bottom of the ninth, Sox can't win with scoring nine runs. Royals come back for a 10-9 win.
September 13... Worth the Wait
Sox and Royals sit out two rain delays for a combined two hours but still squeeze this one out as Jose Contreras wins again in 6-4 victory in Kansas City.
Cubune cries over Sox Success!
If the Sox are in the home stretch of a six-month quest to win the Central Division title, then obviously the Cubune's headlines must be about attendance, TV ratings, and losing streaks. It's all too predictable, the media's ignorance of the Sox, but especially the Cubune's negative spin. WSI's Hal Vickery takes these Unlovable Losers working at Cubune Tower to the woodshed once again!

In a see-saw match between two divisional leaders, the team who can't decide where they even play came away with a 6-5 victory over our beloved Palehose. The biggest silver-lining from the game: Bobby Jenks went three full innings, fanning six in the process!
September 7... Konerko-Contreras 1, Royals 0
Though not as sharp as previous few starts, Jose Contreras mows down Kansas City for 7+ innings, needing only a solo home run from Paul Konerko to secure Sox's 7th straigh win.
September 5... McCarthy plows through Red Sox nation!
The Sox continue to dominate in September, Brandon McCarthy, again, shuts down a high power team and the Sox score every which way over the Red Sox!
MacPhail & The Big Lie!
If you tell a lie often enough, people begin to believe it. Nobody knows it like the folks running the Urinal, an entire baseball empire built one fiction on top of another successfully fooling pilgrim idiots far and wide -- but especially the busloads traveling from Des Moines. Scott Podesdnik, Tadahito Iguchi, and Paul Konerko pump up the Sox offense, while Jon Garland gets his 17th win in convincing fashion leading the Chicago White Sox to a 2-0 victory and a 4-game sweep of the hapless Detroit Tigers.

Freddy Garcia recovers from his last start with a dominating evening. The Sox pounded Sean Douglass for a 9-1 victory.
